Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics is a specialized field of dentistry that focuses on diagnosing and treating disorders of the dental and maxillofacial system, including soft and hard tissues, as well as the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). It is dedicated to restoring proper function and aesthetics and preventing related complications through the use of custom-made dental appliances and prostheses. Even losing a single tooth can make us forget about a beautiful smile, and beyond that, it disrupts the entire chewing process. Often, a dental prosthodontist is referred to simply as a prosthetist, whereas that is only one of their many responsibilities.
